Biography

Dr. Wu Bihu, known as a professor of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University, has obtained his academic positions and titles as the Fellow of International Academy for the Study of Tourism (IAST), the Founding Chairman of International Tourism Studies Association(ITSA), the Member of Expert Committee of the 14th Five-year Plan of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, the President of Geo-tourism Branch of the China Tourism Association and the Founder of the Experoutination Library.

His long-term research focuses on tourism geography, historical and cultural geography, urban and regional tourism planning, cultural heritage revitalization, national park recreation, and experoutination theory and experoutination library construction.

​

He has presided over 5 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In academic output, he has published over 400 papers in Chinese and English peer-reviewed journals spanning tourism geography, tourism planning, and human geography, and authored more than 10 monographs.

​

​Dr. Wu has received prestigious honors such as the Distinguished Prize of Tourism Geography Research 2013 from the Geographical Society of China.
