Biography
Dr. Zhang Chaozhi is a Professor of Sustainable Tourism at Fudan University and Director of the university’s Research Center for Heritage Revitalization and Sustainable Tourism Development. His research focuses on heritage utilization and the sustainable development of tourism destinations.
Dr. Zhang has published numbers of journal articles and presided over a series of major and key research projects, which are funded by the National Social Science Fund of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Ministry of Technology. Committed to promoting the active utilization of heritage for cross-cultural exchange and improving local communities’ livelihoods, he also engages in close collaboration with heritage-related international organizations, including UNESCO, ICOMOS, and IUCN, to continuously implement initiatives such as the “Panda Ambassador” Heritage Education and Sustainable Tourism Livelihood Workshops, as well as the “Asian Cultural Heritage Youth Forum”.
