

Mao-Ying Wu
Biography
Mao-Ying Wu, Ph.D., is a Professor of Tourism in the School of Management at Zhejiang University, China. She earned her Ph.D. in Tourism from James Cook University, Australia. Her research focuses on tourism-community relationships, small tourism enterprise management, and cultural heritage management, with a strong emphasis on sustainable tourism development and community well-being.
Mao-Ying has authored nearly 120 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact, internationally recognized journals. She has successfully led multiple research projects funded at both national and provincial levels in China. Her outstanding contributions to the field have been recognized through her inclusion in the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists list (2021–2023) in the Sports, Leisure, and Tourism category.
In addition to her research, Mao-Ying serves as the Director of the Tourism and Hospitality Program at Zhejiang University, the Program Coordinator for the Cultural and Tourism Management MBA, and the Vice Director of the Australia-China Tourism Research Centre. She is also an editorial board member for several leading journals, including Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of China Tourism Research, and Tourism Tribune.
