Biography

Sai Liang is currently a Professor and the Associate Department Head of the Department of Tourism Management at the School of Tourism and Service Management, Nankai University. His research focuses on interdisciplinary fields, including tourists’ online behavior, tourism big data and intelligent decision-making, governance of digital platforms, and the application of artificial intelligence. He has served as the Principal Investigator for two projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one sub-project of a key project from the Ministry of Education of China, and several other provincial and ministerial-level projects. In the past five years, he has published over 50 articles in top-tier international journals such as Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, and Nankai Business Review. Several of his papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers. He has received the Tianjin Municipal Outstanding Achievement Award for Social Sciences and the CHME (Council for Hotel Management and Education) Emerging Researcher of the Year Award, among other provincial, ministerial, and international research honors. Additionally, he serves as Associate Editors, Editorial Board Members, Guest Editors for several SSCI-indexed journals. He is also a member of the Youth Working Committee of the China Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics, and council members of several national academic associations in China.
