Xin (Cathy) Jin

Dr Xin (Cathy) Jin is an Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Marketing at Griffith University and currently serves as Higher Degree by Research Director for Griffith Business School. She completed her Undergraduate and first Master’s degrees in English and Translation in China and earned a second Master’s degree in Conference Management in the United Kingdom. She obtained her Doctorate from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her PhD thesis was awarded the Highly Commended Award of the 2011 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award in the hospitality and tourism field. Prior to her academic career, she had worked in the tourism and hospitality industry in China. Her main research interests are visitor economy and visitor behaviour, with projects focusing on visitor profiles, experience, behaviour in relation to events management and destination marketing. She was awarded the 2022 CAUTHE Fellows Commendation Award for significant contribution to research by the Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education.
